What does climate change look like to you? More floods, more droughts, heatwaves or is it all of them
The world is now about 1.2C warmer than it was in the 19th Century - and the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has risen by 50%.
Climate change has different effects in different areas of the world. Some places will warm more than others, some will receive more rainfall and others will face more droughts. Many African nations are likely to suffer droughts and food shortages
To combat climate change, rich nations in 2019 promised they would send at least $100bn a year in climate finance to poorer countries by 2020. That understanding formed the basis of the 2015 Paris climate accord, which aims to limit global warming to well below 2C, ideally 1.5C.
From the Paris Agreement, we now are at COP26 in 2021. What exactly is COP26 and what should Africa expect from these climate talks?
To put these into perspective is Mr. Harun Kiogora from the UN Global Compact Network Kenya. #ThePowerDialogue #EnergyThatEmpowers

Episode 002 : Driving Access to Underserved Communities in Kenya
Saturday Nov 20, 2021
Saturday Nov 20, 2021
According to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7, countries should work towards access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all by 2030 as an enabler to social economic transformation.
Despite concerted efforts through various initiatives, electricity access remains a challenge with more than 700 million people globally without access - majority of whom live in sub-Saharan Africa.
Kenya is no exception with more than 20% of its population without electricity access. In recent years, the government has intensified its electrification efforts, growing access from 20% in 2013 to more than 70% currently. However, access to electricity is low in the 14 marginalized counties, which represent 72% of the country’s total land area. What is Kenya bridging the gap for underserved communities? #ThePowerDialogue #EnergyThatEmpowers
